::: LOOKING INSIDE THE HOUSE

The B & B ABACO HOME is part of a small old house typical of the area: old and fascinating. The discovery of old traces of sandstone and limestone found out during the restoration, wooden beams and jambs, some of them former than the earthquake of 1693, gives the bedroom and the living room a unique fascination.
    The flat has two indipendent halls for guests; one goes through a little green inner yard. The location in a footpath is a garantee for a total relax.
    The rooms, tastefully furnished with all facilities, create a homey and elegant atmosphere.

    The bedroom has antique 19th century Sicilian furniture, curtains and lamps handmade by Sicilian craftsmen. On the walls genuine masters and antique prints of English travellers in Syracuse.
    A great care in the choice of linen with a simple style and natural fibres Orthopaedic beds.

    In the other room our guests can relax, read a book or watch TV. When necessary it can be used as a comfortable double bedroom.

The kitchen is ready for self-catering, among Sicilian majolica and old cookery books where our guests could recreate Arabian, Norman or Catalan flavours, still living in our tradition.
     Nice linen in the bathroom together with traditional Sicilian handmade olive-oil soaps which are so precious and difficult to find nowadays.

The B & B ABACO HOME is a flat for people who love privacy and the warm hospitality of a B & B: at breakfast, typical Sicilian pastries; in summer the famous almond or lemon "granita", orange squash and all the year round all the recipes of our tradition. In the little library, in the sitting room, our guests can choose the cultural or naturalistic guidebooks they like or follow our suggestion for the most unusual and exciting excursions. If you like cooking, you'll find cookery books with traditional recipes and, at a walking distance, the pictoresque old market where you can enjoy the typical Aretusean colours, smells and tastes. Otherwise, you can enjoy of the great skill of our local cooks and we'll suggest a list of restaurants from the most famous to the simplest home cooking, always with a great care for good food and a discount for our guests. The B & B ABACO HOME  has got a washing machine but we also provide a laundry service. We are ready to help you for everything you need. If you are coming by car, we'll have the pleasure to wait for you at the motorway exit. If you are coming by train or by plane we'll offer you a taxi service.
